Joss Whedon's TV series Firefly and the follow-up feature film Serenity have created an extensive fan following. Not only has the web been flooded with rich Firefly/Serenity-related websites, but a real live community, known as browncoats, has grown around the show (with a surprisingly low degree of "freak fringe", as has been pointed out). The BDB will help the wayward traveller find their way through this labyrinth of shiny info. Our services include:

Web Site Directory
The web is packed with great Firefly/Serenity sites. But keeping track of them all can be troublesome. The Big Damn Board allows users to enter new sites as they are discovered, and to rate the existing sites, so the shiniest sites rise to the top. If there is a web site that you think should be included in the BDB, you can add it yourself.

Browncoat Community - Coming... eventually
In the (hopefully) not-too-distant future, we will be adding a community section to the site, which will include a calendar of events (to which you can attach event reviews, photos, and more), a much fancier version of the Local Groups page (allowing individual users to associate themselves with the groups), and an improved user profile that will allow you to attach photos and screen names from multiple forums.

In the meantime, you can use the local groups page to find the browncoat community in your area, and you can check out Hera's Browncoat Calendar for a list of upcoming Firefly/Serenity-related events.
